About EDiMA
EDiMA, the European Digital Media Association, is an alliance of new media companies whose members provide online platforms offering users a wide range of online services, including the provision of audiovisual content, media, E-commerce, communications and information/search services. EDiMA represents the interests of the new media sector in Europe in policymaking and industry cooperative activities.EDiMA represents some of the largest new media companies and Internet platforms operating at the European level and interested in the development of the European online market. In the past few years, EDiMA's involvement in the European debate on content online, contract law, copyright issues, licensing for digital content, E-Commerce, and liability of intermediaries has demonstrated an expertise that makes it one of the major interlocutors to the Institutions on these issues.
EDiMA's rapid rise to prominence and well-earned reputation as a leading representative and key stakeholder in the legislative debate on issues related to the online environment demonstrates the effectiveness of European new media companies speaking with a single voice on issues related to the protection and the use of copyrighted works on the Internet and the provision of online services to European consumers. As a unique coalition of the most well-known companies acting in the online market, EDiMA is the leading new media industry representative in negotiations and discussions with national and EU policy makers and relevant industry stakeholders in Brussels and across Europe.
